Giornalista e professionista del fotoreportage da oltre 30 anni, esploratore e grande viaggiatore, ho realizzato oltre cento spedizioni, e viaggiato in 140 Paesi dei 5 continenti, pubblicando più di 500 fotoreportage da ogni angolo del pianeta per la stampa italiana e internazionale.
Per quindici anni, dal 2004 al 2019, sono stato Direttore Responsabile di TREKKING&OUTDOOR, la principale rivista nelle edicole italiane dedicata al turismo outdoor, e continuo a collaborare alla redazione di prestigiosi magazine dedicati alla fotografia, al viaggio e all'avventura.
Dal 2018 al 2022 sono stato il Coordinatore per l’Italia del progetto National Geographic Photography Expeditions, gestendo e organizzando un gruppo di fotografi professionisti nella realizzazione di spedizioni e viaggi di scoperta dedicati alla fotografia.
Docente Master Nikon School, da oltre vent'anni tengo corsi e workshop di fotoreportage in Italia e all'estero. Le mie mostre fotografiche Bracconiere di Emozioni e Occhi sul Mondo sono già state esposte nelle principali città italiane e in numerose capitali europee, e nel 2017 una delle mie immagini è stata inserita tra le 100 selezionate da Nikon, per celebrare il suo secolo di vita, nel volume fotografico It’s a Nikon, it’s an Icon.
Nel 2018 ho fondato e dirigo FotoVideoAcademy Italia, la prima Academy didattica dedicata al fotoreportage, insieme ad alcuni dei più importanti fotografi italiani del settore, e pubblica il web-magazine omonimo.

A journalist and professional photographer for more than 30 years, an explorer and great traveler, I have carried out more than a hundred expeditions, and traveled to 140 countries on 5 continents, publishing more than 500 photoreports from every corner of the planet for the Italian and international press.
For fifteen years, from 2004 to 2019, I was Editor-in-Chief of TREKKING&OUTDOOR, the leading magazine on Italian newsstands dedicated to outdoor tourism, and I continue to collaborate in the editing of prestigious magazines dedicated to photography, travel and adventure.
From 2018 to 2022 I was the Coordinator for Italy of the National Geographic Photography Expeditions project, managing and organizing a group of professional photographers in the realization of expeditions and discovery trips dedicated to photography.
A Nikon School Master Photographer, I have been teaching photojournalism courses and workshops in Italy and abroad for over twenty years. My photographic exhibitions Poacher of Emotions and Eyes on the World have already been exhibited in major Italian cities and many European capitals, and in 2017 one of my images was included among the 100 selected by Nikon, to celebrate its century of life, in the photographic volume It's a Nikon, it's an Icon.
In 2018 I founded and direct FotoVideoAcademy Italia, the first educational Academy dedicated to photojournalism, together with some of the most important Italian photographers in the field, and publish the web-magazine of the same name.
Sono anche autore, regista e conduttore di progetti televisivi dedicati all’esplorazione, avventura e documentazione etnografica, e ho realizzato numerosi documentari e reportage TV, prodotto oltre 300 ore di programmi andati in onda sulle reti RAI e SKY, tra cui: “Siberia, la terra addormentata”, “Alaska, ultima frontiera”, “Dancalia, la Terra del Diavolo”, “Nella preistoria coi Surma", “Sulle tracce degli Incas", "Cercando Shangri-La, sui sentieri della Via della Seta seguendo le tracce di Marco Polo", "Alla conquista del West". Ho prodotto il format televisivo “Sentieri d’Italia”, dedicato alla scoperta a piedi dei territori del nostro paese, in onda su Marcopolo, prestigioso canale TV dedicato al viaggio, del quale dal 2009 al 2015 sono già andate in onda cinque serie, per un totale di 120 puntate.
Atleta professionista nello sci alpino, maestro di sci e allenatore (dal 1975, ancora in attività) sono stato istruttore nazionale FISI (1994/2002), istruttore di alpinismo e scialpinismo del CAI (1983/1998 presso la Scuola di Alpinismo Giorgio Graffer di Trento), e dalla fine degli anni ’70 mi sono dedicato alle scalate sulle grandi montagne del pianeta, organizzando numerose spedizioni in tutto il mondo, dall’Himalaya alle Ande, dai deserti africani alla Patagonia e alla Tierra del Fuego.
Tra le imprese più importanti la partecipazione nel 1984 alla prima salita italiana del Makalu (8.481 metri), quinto gigante del pianeta; importanti salite sulle Ande peruviane e prima salita dell’inviolata parete ovest del Pisco; prima ascensione solitaria alla parete nord del Nun, 7.135 metri nel Tibet Occidentale. Nel 1987, insieme ad Alberto Salza e a Enzo Maolucci ho compiuto la traversata integrale della Suguta Valley, 370 chilometri a piedi in autosufficienza nel Grande Rift africano tra il Kenya e l’Etiopia, uno dei luoghi desertici più ostili del pianeta.
Nel 2002, come fotografo ufficiale, sono stato uno dei protagonisti della spedizione Overland 6 “L’anello azzurro del Mediterraneo”, 36.000 km attraverso Europa, Asia e Africa, durante i quali ho salito le cime più alte delle venti nazioni toccate. Nell'inverno 2005, uno dei più freddi della storia in Russia, ho attraversato tutto il continente asiatico da Vladivostok a Mosca, per realizzare la serie tv “Sibir, la Terra Addormentata”.
Nel 2006 ho compiuto una delle prime traversate integrali della Dancalia, nel Corno d’Africa, e nel 2007, con quattro amici americani e un cacciatore Innuit, ha percorso, in un mese di totale isolamento e autosufficienza, oltre 400 chilometri in canoa in una delle ultime zone inesplorate dell’Alaska, fino al Mar Glaciale Artico. Nel 2017 ho percorso oltre 10.000 chilometri tra India del Nord, Uzbekistan, Kirghizistan e Cina sulle piste della Via della Seta, per realizzare la trasmissione televisiva "Cercando Shangri-La", nel 2018 ho viaggiato attraverso Nevada, California, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Arizona e Colorado per realizzare 12 puntate tv dedicati ai Parchi Nazionali dell'Ovest americano.
Nel 2023 con una spedizione americana ho compiuto la traversata delle montagne che circondano il Mustang, remota regione himalayana del Nepal occidentale, percorrendo a piedi 210 chilometri in sei giorni a quote tra i 4000 e 5000 metri.

I am also an author, director and host of TV projects dedicated to exploration, adventure and ethnographic documentation, and have made numerous documentaries and TV reports, produced over 300 hours of programs aired on RAI and SKY networks, including: “Siberia, the Sleeping Land,” “Alaska, the Last Frontier,” “Dancalia, the Land of the Devil,” “In Prehistory with the Surma,” “On the Trails of the Incas,” “Seeking Shangri-La, on the Silk Road Trails Following in the Footsteps of Marco Polo,” “Conquering the West.” I produced the TV format “Paths of Italy,” dedicated to the discovery on foot of the territories of our country, aired on Marcopolo, a prestigious TV channel dedicated to travel, of which five series have already been aired from 2009 to 2015, for a total of 120 episodes.
A professional athlete in alpine skiing, ski instructor and coach (since 1975, still active), I have been a FISI national instructor (1994/2002), a CAI mountaineering and ski mountaineering instructor (1983/1998 at the Giorgio Graffer Mountaineering School in Trento), and since the late 1970s I have dedicated myself to climbing the great mountains of the planet, organizing numerous expeditions around the world, from the Himalayas to the Andes, from African deserts to Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego.
Among the most important exploits were participation in 1984 in the first Italian ascent of Makalu (8,481 meters), the fifth giant on the planet; important ascents in the Peruvian Andes and first ascent of the inviolate West Face of Pisco; first solo ascent of the North Face of Nun, 7,135 meters in Western Tibet. In 1987, together with Alberto Salza and Enzo Maolucci I completed the full crossing of Suguta Valley, 370 kilometers on foot in self-sufficiency in the Great African Rift between Kenya and Ethiopia, one of the most hostile desert places on the planet.
In 2002, as official photographer, I was one of the protagonists of the Overland 6 expedition “The Blue Ring of the Mediterranean,” 36,000 kilometers across Europe, Asia and Africa, during which I climbed the highest peaks of the twenty nations touched. In the winter of 2005, one of the coldest in history in Russia, I crossed the entire Asian continent from Vladivostok to Moscow, to make the TV series “Sibir, the Sleeping Land.”
In 2006 I made one of the first integral crossings of Dancalia, in the Horn of Africa, and in 2007, with four American friends and an Innuit hunter, traveled, in a month of total isolation and self-sufficiency, over 400 kilometers by canoe in one of the last unexplored areas of Alaska, to the Arctic Ocean. In 2017 I traveled over 10,000 kilometers between North India, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and China on the Silk Road trails to make the TV show “Looking for Shangri-La,” and in 2018 I traveled through Nevada, California, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Arizona and Colorado to make 12 TV episodes dedicated to the National Parks of the American West.
In 2023 with an American expedition, I made the traverse of the mountains surrounding Mustang, a remote Himalayan region in western Nepal, walking 210 kilometers in six days at altitudes between 4,000 and 5,000 meters.
